CapySleep Pro
CapySleep Pro is an optional annual auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store. The Free plan remains available without purchase.
- Free plan limits: Up to 3 sleep-aid sounds, 3 journal entries, and 3 saved sleep or nap sessions, plus basic sleep views.
- Pro unlocks: Full sleep-aid library, Apple Music for alarms and sleep aids, full Sleep Details, unlimited session history, unlimited journal entries, and recurring schedules.
- Upgrade, restore, or manage: Open Settings in CapySleep to upgrade, restore purchases, or manage an active subscription. You can also manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

Siri & Shortcuts
CapySleep works with Siri and the Shortcuts app so you can start or end sleep sessions, control sleep aids and alarms, and jump to your latest analysis or journal with your voice or personal automations.
Enable Siri for CapySleep
- On your iPhone, open Settings → Siri (or Apple Intelligence & Siri, depending on your iOS version).
- Make sure Siri is turned on. If you want hands-free use, enable listening options such as “Hey Siri” / “Siri” or use the Side Button.
- In CapySleep, go to Settings → Siri & Shortcuts, then tap the Shortcuts button to open CapySleep’s ready-to-use App Shortcuts.
- You can also open the Shortcuts app after installing CapySleep — App Shortcuts appear automatically. When building a custom shortcut or automation, tap Add Action and search for CapySleep.
Use CapySleep with Siri
CapySleep’s App Shortcuts are available to Siri as soon as the app is installed. You do not need to tap “Add to Siri” first.
Try phrases like:
- “Start sleep with CapySleep”
- “Start a power nap with CapySleep”
- “Play sleep aid with CapySleep”
- “Play Distant Waters sleep aid with CapySleep”
- “Snooze my CapySleep alarm”
- “Open my CapySleep journal”
- “Write journal with CapySleep”
Close matches usually work too. Actions use your current CapySleep schedule, alarm, and sleep-aid settings. Saying Play sleep aid starts your selected sound (or Gentle Night Rain by default) and toggles pause if audio is already playing. You can also name a sound, such as Play Distant Waters sleep aid with CapySleep.
End Sleep stops sleep aid, dismisses a ringing alarm, and ends the active sleep or nap session.
Enable Siri for Your Own Shortcut
Use this when you want a custom phrase, or when you want one shortcut that both Siri and an automation can run.
- Open the Shortcuts app → tap + to create a new shortcut.
- Tap Add Action → search for CapySleep → choose an action (for example, Play Sleep Aid or Start Sleep).
- Tap the shortcut name at the top → Rename it to something easy to say, such as “Bedtime CapySleep” → Done.
- Save the shortcut. Say “Siri, run Bedtime CapySleep” (use your shortcut’s name).
- Optional custom phrase: open the shortcut → open Details → look for Add to Siri (wording can vary by iOS version) → record or type the phrase you want → save.
Tip: Keep Siri turned on in Settings → Siri (or Apple Intelligence & Siri). Without Siri enabled, voice phrases will not run.
Put Shortcuts on Your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or Control Center
- Home Screen icon: In the Shortcuts app, open the shortcut → open Details → Add to Home Screen → Add.
- Home Screen widget: Touch and hold the Home Screen → Edit → Add Widget → search for Shortcuts, then choose the shortcut or folder to show.
- Lock Screen control: Touch and hold the Lock Screen → Customize → Lock Screen → tap a bottom control → choose Shortcuts and select your CapySleep shortcut. You can also add a Shortcuts widget to the Lock Screen widget area.
- Control Center: Open Control Center → tap Edit (or the + button) → Add a Control → choose Shortcuts and assign your shortcut.
Set Up a Personal Automation (Step by Step)
Automations run from an event (time, Focus, alarm, and so on). They can use CapySleep actions directly, or run a shortcut you already enabled for Siri.
- Open the Shortcuts app → tap Automation.
- Tap + in the upper-right corner (or tap Automation if this is your first one).
- Tap Create Personal Automation (if shown).
-
Choose a trigger, for example:
- Time of Day — bedtime or wake time
- Sleep / Focus — when Sleep Focus turns on
- Alarm — when an alarm goes off or is snoozed
- App — when CapySleep or another app opens
- Configure the trigger options (time, days, Focus, and so on), then tap Next.
- Tap Add Action.
-
Search for CapySleep and add an action such as
Play Sleep Aid, Start Power Nap, or
Start Sleep.
Or search for Run Shortcut and choose the personal shortcut you already set up for Siri. - Add any extra actions you want (for example, turn on Do Not Disturb, dim lights, or open CapySleep), then tap Next.
- Review the summary. Choose Run Immediately (or turn off Ask Before Running) if you want it to run without tapping a notification. Some triggers or sensitive actions may still ask for approval.
- Tap Done. Your automation now appears on the Automation screen.
Ideas: start a sleep aid at bedtime, begin a nap when a Focus turns on, open your journal after waking, or combine CapySleep with smart-home scenes.
Example: Bedtime Automation with Siri Backup
- Create a shortcut named Bedtime CapySleep with Play Sleep Aid (and any other steps you want).
- Test it with Siri: “Siri, run Bedtime CapySleep.”
- Create a personal automation with trigger Time of Day set to your bedtime.
- Add action Run Shortcut → choose Bedtime CapySleep.
- Set it to Run Immediately, then save.
Now the same bedtime routine can run automatically at the set time, or anytime you ask Siri.
